Rockwall-Health football coach was placed on administrative leave because of intensive workout session imposed on the students. The intensive session led to several students being hospitalized.

In Texas a football head coach made players do 300-400 pushups in a period of an hour with no water breaks. This lead to multiple students being hospitalized and facing severe health issues. The coach was thus sent on administrative leave. The coach John Harrell is in Rockwall-Health since 2019 and was also promoted to head coach in January 2022.

It was confirmed by the principal Rockwall-Health through letter that the head coach John Harrell after the workout session in eight period of Athletics Class the one he teaches was placed on leave. The letter stated that several students needed medical attention after the class and some were even hospitalized.

The parents of the students with health issues said that one of the son was made to do 300 to 400 pushups, while others said that the number was more than 350.

A kid was even diagnosed by rhabdomyolysis, a breakdown of damaged muscle which can lead to kidney failure and other severe issues. There were other eight hospitalizations.
