In a recent statement on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), tech billionaire Elon Musk weighed in on the massive migrant caravan making its way to the U.S.-Mexico border. Musk responded to a video shared by the account End Wokeness, showing thousands of migrants marching through a southern Mexican town and along a highway.

The video, shared with End Wokeness’s 1.8 million followers, raised concerns about the situation at the border, with the caption reading, “While they have us distracted, a massive caravan is marching to storm our border. This is not a crisis. It’s an invasion.”

Musk expressed his thoughts on the issue, stating, “The scale of illegal immigration across the US southern border is staggering.”

Irineo Mújica, one of the organizers of the caravan, shared insights with Real America’s Voice, claiming that Latin American countries are “conspiring against the United States” and are actively “fueling” the flow of migrants northward. Mújica criticized the Biden administration, comparing their approach unfavorably to former President Donald Trump’s policies. He argued that immigration has been “weaponized” by politicians like Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who use it to demand funding from the U.S.

According to Mújica, approximately 5,000 migrants set out on foot from Mexico’s main migrant processing center in Tapachula, near the Guatemalan border. At times, they were escorted by police and ambulances to prevent road blockages.

Elon Musk, whose companies have been increasingly investing in Texas, visited the U.S.-Mexico border in Eagle Pass during a highly publicized trip in September, accompanied by Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas. During his visit, Musk, donning a cowboy hat, broadcast live video to X, showcasing detained migrants and discussing immigration issues.

Mújica, advocating for transit visas to allow migrants to cross Mexico and reach the U.S. border, highlighted the harsh conditions faced by migrants living on the streets in Tapachula. The Associated Press reported that Monday’s march was one of the largest since June 2022.

U.S. border officials have estimated that up to 10,000 migrants have arrived at the border in recent weeks. Panamanian figures indicate that more than 420,000 migrants, assisted by Colombian smugglers, have passed through the challenging Darien Gap this year. Various politicians, including New York City Mayor Eric Adams, have visited the region, urging migrants not to continue their perilous journey.

The situation continues to unfold, raising concerns and prompting discussions about immigration policies and border security in the United States.
